A tool you use, or a threat you ignore?

Hey Reader,

The other day I read that "The people most threatened by AI are selling information."

That really resonated with me, because one of the core reasons we recently re-launched our Teach Better Academy (our online course academy for educators) is because we wanted to get back to a stronger focus on community and connection.

Over the years, as our business grew, so did the things we created, the services we offered, and the number of tasks we had to get done. So much so, that we got spread really thin, bloated our expenses, and got further and further from what made people love our brand to begin with.

We got away from what people wanted: Connection.

So over the past 2 years, we have been narrowing things way down, and getting really focused on providing that connection and that community for the educators we serve.

So when I read things like this, and see all over the place, that the people that are the most worried about AI are those who are strictly selling information, it reaffirms our focus on the community piece of it.

Our online courses are a tool.

Community is the product.

Events are the product.

Connection and support are the product.

And AI cannot recreate the connection and support we bring our audience.

You can apply this same thought process to your business.

What aspects of your business can AI recreate? What pieces can it NOT replicate?

What are the human elements that people are attracted to?

Focus on those things. Lean into those things. That's how you keep AI as a tool you use, instead of a threat you ignore.

I hope this helps.

Before you go...

I'd love to know where you're at right now.

Just hit reply with the letter that best describes you:

A. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want to build.

B. I know what I want to build, but I'm struggling to find the time.

C. I'm creating consistently, but not really growing.

D. I have an audience, but I'm not sure how to turn it into income.

E. I'm making some money, but I want to build something bigger.

~ Jeff

I appreciate you.

Hey Reader, The other week, I wrote about trading your creativity for speed - Something I believe is truly harmful to the world of art, creativity, and business. More recently, I was reading an email from Jay Clouse and he said something that spoke to that same idea, so I wanted to share. (Sidenote: If you're not already, go subscribe to Jay's newsletter.) Jay shared 2 insights he took away from an interview that really connected with him. This was his first insight: Insight #1: The long way...

Hey Reader, Happy Saturday! I know I don't normally email on Saturdays, but I felt this was important enough. I'm excited to let you know that we now have 3 spots opening up in the EDUpreneur Mastermind, and I think it might be a good fit for you. If you've been dabbling in things for while, investing in yourself, learning, growing, and building something, you might be ready for a different level of support, accountability, and connection. The mastermind is where things tend to speed up for...

Hey Reader, Over the last 24 months or so, we have stripped Teach Better down a lot. Like, a lot. What I mean by this is that we stopped doing a lot of things that we used to do. And we used to do A LOT of things. We stopped some of them because they weren’t working as well. (Whatever that means) We stopped others because the industry as a whole has seen a decrease in spending, so revenue adjusted and we needed to adjust accordingly. And we stopped some because platforms changed and they were...
