👍 3 steps to start your year strong.

Hey Reader,

Well, it's here! It's 2025, officially a NEW YEAR. Time to start fresh!

With every New Year comes a fresh slate for all of us, and I want to help you hit the ground running with some simple, actionable steps you can take right now to set yourself up for success in 2025.

1. Declutter Your Workspace

A clean, clear, organize space equals a clear mind. This is something I am committing to this year - scheduling dedicated time every week to decluttering and cleaning my office. To get started, find just 10-15 minutes today to organize your desk, get rid of those unnecessary sticky notes, and even clean up some of those files in your Google Drive.

It doesn't have to be perfect today. Just get started with a new habit of keeping your space (and mind) clear and ready for work.

2. Reconnect with Your Audience

It's never a bad time to do this one, but today's the perfect day to send a simple “Happy New Year” message to your email list or social media followers. Share what you’re excited about for the year ahead and ask them what they’d like to learn or see from you this year.

It's not just a good way to keeping building that connection; you can also gather some ideas for your next pieces of content, lead magnet, or product.

3. Schedule a Day for You

I hope you took tike during the Holidays for some personal growth, but let's face it, sometimes the "time off" can feel crazier than our normal days. So before the hustle of the year takes over, block out one day this month for taking a course, working on a passion project, or getting inspired in some way. Investing in yourself now will pay off all year long.

Start small, take action, and remember—you’ve got this. Let’s make 2025 a year of growth, connection, and success.

I hope this helps.

🚀 Goals, Non-Goals, and Anti-Goals

  • Goals are good. You should set goals. But you should also set "Anti-goals" and "non-goals."
  • Anti-goals are the constraints that ensure you don't create new problems in pursuing those goals.
  • Non-goals are things you explicitly release any expectations around - sending the stress caused by the goals along with those expectations.

💡CONTENT CREATION IDEA

The ‘One Question’ Content Generator

Identify one question your ideal audience is asking right now.

Build content around answering that question.

The question should be specific to your niche, such as:

  • “How do I stay motivated while juggling teaching and a side hustle?”
  • “What’s the best way to market my first product?”
  • “How do I build relationships with my staff while also holding them accountable?”

Once you have your question, you can create:

  • A blog post or video providing a detailed answer.
  • A social media thread with quick tips.
  • A carousel post or infographic breaking the answer into steps.
  • etc, etc, etc.

Focusing on one specific question at a time makes content creation manageable, highly relevant, and audience-driven. It’s also super repeatable—there’s always another question to answer.

Hey Reader, If you've been here for a while, you know I am (and have been) a very firm believer in the power of email marketing and the importance of having a strong email list and email marketing strategy. Your email list is one of the most valuable assets you can have. Unlike social media, where algorithms change and reach is unpredictable, your list is something you own. It’s a direct line to people who want to hear from you—whether you’re sharing tips, promoting your products, or building...

Hey Reader, Over the years, I’ve done a lot of things, started a lot of businesses, and had a lot of titles: record label founder, janitorial manager, fast food manager, concert club co-owner, marketing firm entrepreneur, and now, COO of a thriving 7-figure consulting business. Some of those ventures succeeded, and plenty of them didn’t. Some of those titles spark some really great memories for me. Some of them don't. But every single one taught me a ton of valuable lessons and helped me be...

Hey Reader, As we get closer to the new year, it’s the perfect time to reset, refocus, and gearing up for what’s to come over the next 12 months. Because I know the Holiday season is busy, I want to keep this short and sweet. So here are 3 things to keep your 2025 planning simple, but effective. 1. Reflect on Wins and LessonsNote: I said "lessons" not "losses." Take a few minutes to write down what went well this year. Celebrate those wins (big and small). Then, write down the lessons you’ve...
